1. About these terms

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and CoinAvio (“CoinAvio”, “we”, “us”), the operator of the payment gateway at coinavio.com, including the website, merchant dashboard, hosted checkout, API and plugins (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms together with the Privacy Policy, the AML & Compliance Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy. If you use the Service for a business, you accept these Terms on behalf of that business and confirm that you are authorised to do so.

Buyers who pay an invoice do not need an account. A buyer’s purchase is with the merchant, not with CoinAvio. Sections 5, 8 and 10 explain how a payment is processed and what happens when something goes wrong.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
  • You may not use the Service if you, your business or its owners are listed on United Nations, European Union, United Kingdom or United States sanctions lists, act on behalf of a listed person or entity, or are in a jurisdiction where providing the Service is prohibited.
  • The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your password secret and do not reuse it elsewhere. We strongly recommend two-factor authentication; once it is enabled, sensitive actions such as withdrawals and API key changes require a code.
  • Tell us immediately at support@coinavio.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We will never ask for your password, authenticator codes or API secrets.

3. Merchant application, review and site verification

After you verify your email address, you submit your business details from the dashboard: your business or store name, your website and a description of what you sell. We review every application before live payments are enabled. We may ask for more information, approve an application with conditions, or refuse it. We are not always able to give a reason.

To send buyers back to your website after a live payment, you verify that you control its domain with a DNS TXT record, a meta tag on your homepage or a verification file. Only verify domains that you own or operate.

Approval does not mean that we endorse your business. We may review your account again if your business, website or risk profile changes.

4. Custodial service and balances

CoinAvio is a custodial service. Buyers pay to addresses controlled by CoinAvio. After the required blockchain confirmations, and any compliance review, the payment less any fees is credited to your balance in the asset that was received. A ledger records every credit, fee, hold and withdrawal.

Your balance is held in crypto-assets. USD amounts shown in the dashboard are estimates for information only, and the value of your balance can go down as well as up. Balances are not bank deposits, do not earn interest and are not covered by any deposit insurance or investor compensation scheme.

You can withdraw your available balance at any time, subject to Sections 7 and 8.

5. Invoices, quotes and payment outcomes

Invoices are priced in US dollars, with a minimum of 0.50 USD. The buyer chooses a coin and network on the hosted checkout. The crypto amount is then fixed and does not change until the payment window closes. The default payment window is 60 minutes; an integration can set a window between 5 minutes and 24 hours. Choosing a different coin does not extend it.

A payment included on the blockchain before the deadline counts even if it is confirmed afterwards. Once a payment is detected, the invoice allows a grace period (currently 60 minutes) for confirmations and any top-up. An invoice ends in one of these outcomes:

  • Paid: the confirmed amount reached the amount due, less any underpayment tolerance you set in Settings. The default tolerance is 0%, which means the exact amount is required.
  • Overpaid: more than the amount due arrived. The invoice is paid and the excess is credited to your balance.
  • Underpaid: the window closed with only part of the amount. The partial amount is credited to your balance, but the invoice is not paid unless you accept the underpayment in the dashboard.
  • Expired: no qualifying payment arrived in time. Funds that arrive later are still credited to your balance and flagged for review; the invoice does not reopen.
  • Cancelled: you cancelled the invoice before any payment arrived.

A different supported coin sent to an invoice address is credited to your balance in that coin but does not settle the invoice. Unsupported tokens, other networks and payments without a required memo may not be detected or matched; recovering them is a manual process that is not guaranteed and is sometimes impossible.

Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed, and the Service does not offer chargebacks.

6. Fees

We charge a processing fee as a percentage of each successful payment. It is deducted from the crypto credited to you when a payment confirms. Each invoice keeps the rate that applied when it was created. If your integration asks the buyer to pay the processing fee, it is added to the invoice total.

Merchants pay a 0% processing fee for the first six months after merchant approval, when the account is configured for this launch offer. After that, the rate configured for your account applies. Your current rate is shown in the dashboard; see also the Pricing page. Rates do not change automatically. We announce any change to your rate in advance, and a change never applies to invoices that already exist.

There is no setup or monthly fee. Blockchain network fees for withdrawals apply during and after the launch offer and are shown before you confirm a withdrawal. On some networks the buyer pays a network fee at checkout; it is shown separately, covers blockchain costs and is not credited to you.

7. Withdrawals

  • You can withdraw your available balance to a wallet address that you provide and control.
  • A withdrawal requires your two-factor code when two-factor authentication is enabled, and confirmation through a link sent to your account email.
  • When you add a new withdrawal address, we email you, and withdrawals to that address are approved manually during a cooling period (24 hours by default).
  • Some withdrawals are reviewed manually, for example larger amounts, requests made after an authenticator recovery, or destinations flagged by compliance checks. Review can delay a withdrawal.
  • The network fee is shown before you confirm.
  • You are responsible for the address, network and any memo or tag you enter. Funds sent to a wrong address or network usually cannot be recovered.
  • We may delay or refuse a withdrawal where the law, these Terms or the AML & Compliance Policy require it.

8. Compliance reviews and holds

We check payments and withdrawal destinations as described in the AML & Compliance Policy. A payment from a high-risk source can be held for review before it is credited. While it is held, the invoice stays pending and no paid notification is sent. We may ask you for information about a payment, your customer or your business. Rejected funds are not credited to your balance and are handled as the law requires.

We may also hold funds or restrict an account when we reasonably suspect fraud or a breach of these Terms, or when a court, regulator or law enforcement authority lawfully requires it.

9. Acceptable use

You may only accept payments for lawful goods and services that comply with the Acceptable Use Policy. Describe what you sell accurately, to buyers and to us, and use the Service only for the business we approved. Do not let another business accept payments through your account without our written approval.

10. Refunds and disputes with buyers

Each sale is between you and your buyer. You are responsible for your products, delivery, customer support and refund policy, and for the consumer protection rules that apply to you. CoinAvio does not refund payments automatically and is not a party to disputes between merchants and buyers. When a buyer contacts us about a payment, we may confirm the invoice status to them and refer them to you. See Refunds & Payment Issues.

11. API keys, webhooks and integrations

  • API keys and your webhook signing secret are confidential. Keep them on your server, never in browser code, apps or public repositories. Anyone with your API key can act on your account through the API.
  • If a key or secret may have been exposed, revoke or rotate it immediately. You are responsible for actions taken with your keys.
  • Verify the signature of every webhook against the raw request body, and process each event only once.
  • The success page or return URL is not proof of payment. Fulfil an order only from a verified webhook, or from an invoice status of PAID or OVERPAID read from the API.
  • Test keys create test invoices that never move real funds. Test balances have no value and cannot be withdrawn.
  • Plugins and sample code are provided to help you integrate. Test them in your own store and keep them up to date.
  • Do not overload, scrape or probe the Service beyond its documented use. We may apply rate limits. Report security issues to us instead of testing them on live accounts.

12. Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time by contacting support from your account email. Withdraw your available balance first; we will help you with any balance that remains.

We may suspend or restrict your account, refuse invoices or withdrawals, or end these Terms if you breach them or the Acceptable Use Policy, if the law requires it, or if your account presents a security, fraud or compliance risk. Where it is reasonable and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

When an account is suspended, pending withdrawals that have not been sent are held for review. Your balance remains yours: after any required review you can withdraw it to a wallet you control, unless the law or an order of a competent authority requires us to hold or surrender it. Sections that by their nature should continue, including fees owed, liability, indemnity and governing law, survive termination.

13. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, security incidents and problems with blockchain networks, node providers, hosting or other third parties can delay payment detection, confirmations or withdrawals.

We may change, add or remove features, coins or networks. The assets that accept live payments are listed on the Docs page and in the API. When a change materially reduces the Service, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind beyond those stated in these Terms.

We are not responsible for:

  • changes in the market value of crypto-assets;
  • delays or failures of blockchain networks, wallets, exchanges or other third parties;
  • payments or withdrawals sent to a wrong address, network or coin, or without a required memo;
  • losses caused by compromised credentials or API keys, unless the compromise was our fault;
  • your products, services and relationship with your buyers.

To the extent permitted by law, CoinAvio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising from the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the processing fees you paid us in that period.

These limits do not reduce your right to withdraw the balance credited to your account, and do not exclude any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

15. Indemnity

You will indemnify CoinAvio against claims, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, arising from your products or services, your dealings with your buyers, your breach of these Terms or the law, or the use of your account or API keys.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. We will notify you of material changes by email or in the dashboard before they take effect. If you continue to use the Service after that, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, close your account and withdraw your balance.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of the Service. Before starting any formal proceedings, contact us at support@coinavio.com so that we can try to resolve the matter informally.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a right, we have not waived it. You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our consent.
